Overview of Improvement Priorities



 

ELA

Goal: By the end of the 2018-19 school year, there will be at least a 5% increase in the number of students that test as proficient/advanced in ELA  as measured by the 2019 ACT.

Objectives:

  • Adopt and implement a new ELA common core aligned materials (Grades 6 - 10)

  • Support implementation of new materials



 

Math

Goal: By the end of the 2018-19 school year, there will be at least a 5% increase in the number of students that test as proficient/advanced in Mathematics as measured by the 2019 ACT.

Objectives:

  • Explore and implement alternative math instruction strategies to engage students

 

Behavior

Goal: By the end of the 2018-19 school year, there will be a 6% decrease in the number of students who are chronically absent.  (The 2017-18 data was 43.8% chronically absent.)

Objectives:

  • Implement attendance success mentoring program

  • Communicate to parents the importance of school attendance

Overview of Improvement Priorities



 

Reading

Goal: By the end of the 2018-19 school year, there will be at least a 5% increase in the number of students that test as proficient/advanced in reading as measured by the 2017-18 WI Forward Exam and the 2018-19 WI Forward Exam.

Objectives:

  • Improve family engagement and access to reading

  • Support classroom teachers in the core reading programs (SuperKids/Wonders)

    • K-2 Teachers

    • 3-5 Teachers



 

Math

Goal: By the end of the 2018-19 school year, there will be at least a 5% increase in the number of students that test as proficient/advanced in math as measured by the 2017-18 WI Forward Exam and the 2018-19 WI Forward Exam.

Objectives:

  • Continue to provide professional development to support Tier I instruction

  • Provide parents with information about math instruction related to Math Expressions

  • Improve number sense and fact fluency

 

Behavior

Goal: By the end of the 2018-19 school year, office disciplinary referrals will decrease by 10% as measured by major offenses in Skyward from 2017-18 compared to 2018-19.

Objectives:

  • Increase positive student behavior and decrease negative behavior

  • Increase communication with parents related to student behavior
