Menominee Indian High School - Where Eagles Soar
Welcome to Menominee Indian High School (MIHS) on behalf of all of our staff, we are here to help the children grow, learn, and succeed. MIHS believes in educating the whole child intellectually, physically, emotionally, and culturally. Daily instruction in Menominee culture along with an award winning PBIS program, and a restorative justice based approach to discipline provide a supportive nurturing environment.
We offer a wide variety of electives along with a college and career readiness program based on a Menominee Model to prepare your child for life after school. Weekly sessions based on the 7 Grandfather teachings, a daily support study hall, and a caring staff provide many resources to help your child succeed at MIHS. We offer athletics, multiple leadership opportunities, LINK CREW support for freshman, band, choir, many artistic and technical education offerings. We continue to provide students opportunities to earn dual credit through the College of the Menominee Nation, and Northcentral Technical College.
Personally, it is my honor to serve the children of Menominee Indian High School as principal starting in 2016-17. I spent 20 years as a mathematics, and science teacher mostly at Janesville Craig High School. As I developed my own classroom skills, I started mentoring other teachers which lead to me obtaining my masters in educational leadership from the University of Texas in Arlington. I spent two years serving as Associate Principal of Baraboo high school which serves roughly 1,000 students 30% of which are members of the HoChunk Nation. It is with great joy that I am returning to my hometown (Antigo) area to work with such a skilled and enthusiastic staff at MIHS.
We have Menominee Eagle pride (#MIEaglePride), and firmly believe that every child can succeed. We look forward to helping you child make the right choices to get the skills they need to be successful in tomorrow’s careers.
Please do not hesitate to call, or stop in to discuss your child’s education and goals.
